RAW ORGANIC ROOT MACA POWDER -CALL 09036411526

Our Premium Maca powder is a proprietary blend of 40% Cream, 30% Red and 30% Black Maca roots. It is different from our other raw Macas in that it is processed fresh rather than being sundried first. This special handling results in higher glucosinolate content. Premium Maca contains a minimum of 1.4% glucosinolate content where our other Raw Macas contain .8-1%. Glucosinolates are among the most important nutrients in Maca for hormone balance.

Often referred to as "nature's answer to viagra", maca is well known for its ability to significantly boost libido, sex drive and reproductive functions.  We already mentioned its actions as a powerful aphrodisiac, but there are also other reasons for this unique feature.

In the research of Dr. Gloria Chacon de Popovici, a Peruvian biologist, it was established that maca works specifically with the hypothalamus.  The hypothalamus is the major gland of the brain and considered the sex-hormone center, which correlates with its effects as a libido enhancer.

In studies conducted, it was discovered that maca's sexually stimulating properties were also due to two unique compounds called the macamides and the macaenes, giving it restorative qualities that make you feel "potent with the seeds of life."  Legends are well known in Incan history for maca's ability to build tough and muscular warriors with a strong sexual virility.

In addition, studies show that hormone balancing properties of maca enhance male semen quality and increase female fertility.  Maca is believed to be able to indirectly increase testosterone levels by lowering the hormone prolactin and raising amounts of the neurotransmitter dopamine.

How Maca Works
Containing 31 different minerals and 60 different phytonutrients, maca is a nourishing food for the endocrine system, aiding both the pituitary, adrenal, and thyroid glands (all involved in hormonal balance.) Maca has the ability to affect key hormones in both women and men without containing hormones itself.
Maca has been scientifically researched for the use of increasing fertility since 1961 and has been shown to contain specific compounds called glucosinolates which directly can affect fertility for both men and women. These alkaloids are responsible for maca’s ability to support hormonal balance.
Benefits of maca:
  • Supports hormonal balance
  • Increases energy, stamina, and mental clarity
  • Supports the thyroid
  • Supports normal sexual function
Adaptogenic
Maca also has adaptogenic properties which means it helps to strengthen the body so it is able to better resist disease and stress, support the adrenal glands and balances the body’s functions. In order for an herb to be considered an adaptogen it must be non-toxic or harmless to any organ of the body and must be able to be ingested for long periods of time safely. Maca is classified as an adaptogen.
Endocrine system tonic
One of maca’s main actions is to stimulate and nourish the hypothalamus which regulates the pituitary gland, acting as a tonic for the hormone system. When the pituitary gland functions optimally, the entire endocrine system becomes balanced, because the pituitary gland controls the hormone output of the other three glands.
Promotes Hormonal Balance
In women, maca works by controlling estrogen in the body. Estrogen levels that are high or low at the wrong time can keep a woman from becoming pregnant or keep her from carrying to term. Excess estrogen levels also cause progesterone levels to become too low. Taking maca may help to increase the progesterone levels which are essential to carrying a healthy pregnancy.
Estrogen in men produces erectile dysfunction or lack of libido, low sperm count, and lowered production of seminal fluid. Studies have shown that men who use maca may experience an increased libido and an increase in sperm health.
In one study with rats and maca, it was found that animals given maca powder showed multiple egg follicle maturation in females (important for ovulation) and the males had significantly higher sperm production and motility rates.
Supports normal sexual function
In a human study of 9 men who were given gelatinized maca for 4 months at 1,500 – 3,000 mg a day experienced an increase in libido, sperm count, mobillity of sperm, increased DHEA levels, decreased anxiety and stress, lowered blood pressure, balanced iron levels and an increase in adrenal androgens.
Dosage
General suggested usage is 2000-3000 mg a day. To obtain desired results, maca needs to be taken regularly. It can be taken in one dose or through out the day.

Safety & Side Effects

Maca is a beneficial herb that has been used for thousands of years and consumed everyday as a food and medicine by the Peruvians. Based on its long history of use as a food it appears to be very safe. Toxicity studies (conducted at Product Safety Labs of East brunswick, N.J.) showed absolutely no toxicity and no adverse pharmacological effects.
In a small amount of women, some using plain maca root (not gelatinized) exeperienced stomach upset. Some women experience spotting or a change in their menstrual cycle when they first begin using maca. This is normal and a sign that the body is beginning to balance the hormonal system.

Grown at 4,000m above sea level in the Andean district of Junin by the Pumpush people who have been cultivating and consuming maca as a staple food for thousansds of years.
Maca contains unique alkaloids, which help stimulate the master glands that in turn may help optimise and balance the entire endocrine system.
Our supplier, Living Earth Pty Ltd, buys and imports directly from the producers in Junin, Peru.
The following article about Maca is reprinted from the May 2003 edition of 'Conscious Living' Magazine.
"Maca is a root vegetable cultivated high in the mountains of Peru - for thousands of years locals have revered the plant as a saviour, sustaining them in a climate and altitude where it is virtually impossible to grow any other crop. Ground into powdered form for easy consumption, Maca (when non-irradiated) remains high in important nutrients like trace minerals, EFA's, amino acids and vitamins - pure and unadulterated just as Nature intended. The popularity of this nutritious food source has grown steadily, with thousands of people now relying on it to maintain a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
This Incan superfood seems to benefit the body not just on a nutritional level, but also attune it on the hormonal, emotional and physical levels as well. With all the 21st Century interference -- like oestrogen-mimicking compounds, mobile phone/computer VDT emissions, and lack of purity in our air, food and water -- it is no wonder our hormones are out of balance. Apparently, Maca stimulates our master glands, the pituitary and hypothalamus, to re-direct our hormones to optimal function.
In recent years, many concerned Australian women have turned to Maca as a natural alternative to Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). Previously, the choices for women were largely artificial and carried with them a range of potential side-effects. Rather than introducing hormones from the outside, which can send a message to the body to shut down its own hormone production, Maca effectively encourages the glands in the body to produce the hormones needed for each individual's unique requirements. From a biochemical perspective, it is surprising how many common health issues can be triggered by hormonal disruptions - such as infertility, osteoporosis, obesity, constipation, depression, insomnia and PMT.
Today, Maca is consumed by a very diverse range of people in the Western world, allowing us to better cope with the stressful demands of this millennium. For example, athletes find they have more endurance, improved performance results, and a faster recovery time from both workouts and injuries. Vegetarians thrive on the proteins so difficult to get in a plant-based diet, yet so critical to good health and natural beauty. Students are better able to cope with exam stress and poor diet, while experiencing improved concentration and memory retention. People involved in Yoga and the martial arts move effortlessly deeper into their practice with a heightened sense of awareness and focus after adding Maca to their diet. Chronic Fatigue sufferers enjoy enhanced quality of life when they have more energy for tasks throughout the day, and a more refreshing sleep at night.
Many people have experienced profound life shifts after introducing Maca into their diets. Some in the natural health field believe that Maca opens the 'third-eye' chakra, from where we 'see the bigger picture'. Working at such an elemental emotional level, people who feel they have lost their zest for life can see issues and obstacles more clearly, and feel psychologically prepared to step out of the old and into the new. From every perspective, there certainly seems to be a lot of people today who could benefit from the power and vitality of this age-old Peruvian superfood."
The serving suggestion recommended is between 1 and 5 teaspoonfuls one or two times a day (a dose as little as 1/2 a teaspoon a day may be sufficient for some people and may be a suitable level to start with to help get used to it). This can be sprinkled on cereal, mixed into drinks, substituted for flour in baked goods etc. Remember that maca is a whole food and some indigineous Peruvian cultures rely on it for a major part of their diet. No GST applies because Maca is classified by the TGA as a food.

How to Increase Fertility Quickly With Maca

After futile years of trying for pregnancy, some have turned to a simple method for increasing fertility and have reported conceiving within two months or less with this easy method. For many centuries, a sacred South American root vegetable called maca has been used as a quick, safe and powerful substance for increasing fertility and conception in both women and men. Discovered and tested as a fertility plant by Dr. Gloria Chacón de Popovici in the 20th century, the root has since been studied extensively for safety and effectiveness, and both men and women who previously couldn't conceive are now happily reporting pregnancies, sometimes just a couple of months after beginning to eat this root. If you're wondering about increasing fertility, this eHow article will show how to easily find and use maca to increase fertility at home, quite easily.

Maca is known to increase fertility in an extremely safe and unique way, different than other herbs. In America, several companies sell the harvested root dried and powdered, then either put into capsules or simply sold as a loose powder (it actually has a pleasant taste).

Plan your dosage. For people using maca as a general tonic, a teaspoon a day 3 to 7 days a week is a maintenance dosage. For people needing more serious hormonal balance such as a need for increasing fertililty, a "loading dose" of a heaping tablespoon a day is sometimes recommended. Only you can make the decision on which dosage to begin, but since maca is a new vegetable for your body, even if you decide to start right in with the tablespoon a day, you may still want to take a few days first to build up to it so your body can get used to digesting it. Start with a teaspoon and work your way up to a heaping tablespoon. Many people having trouble conceiving who wondered how to increase fertility and then turned to maca continued to take it right on into their second or third child. Some people take it for life for its health benefits. If you decide to continue taking maca long term, it's suggested you take it for 120 days, go off for 30 days, then on again for 120 and so on. Somehow the body responds best to it this way. You may also want to decrease your amount over time because maca has a beneficial cumulative effect.

Plan how you'll get your daily amount. Decide on your dosage, then don't miss any days until you reach 120 days. If you decide your base daily dosage for increasing fertility will be, for example, one heaping tablespoon, adjust your methods of taking maca to make sure you obtain that dosage daily. For example, as mentioned, maca does come in capsule form also, so read the label to see what would be the equivalent of a tablespoon. Maca also comes in a tea form, so if you prefer that method, read the label and make sure you're getting your correct dosage, whether that be one, two, or three cups a day. Maca powder can be baked with, mixed in with yogurt, applesauce, milk, smoothies, fruit juice, mashed potatoes and brown rice, or just about any other way you can think of to take it, as heat doesn't destroy its ability to increase fertility. When baking eight muffins, for example, add two tablespoons of maca powder in with the mix. Two muffins would supply a half tablespoon of maca.
